To mark the 100th anniversary of the Lotus Case, the Museum and Lund’s Faculty of Law have published a unique collection of postcards and letters written by passengers on the SS Lotus between 1898 and 1931.
Written by pilgrims and poets, soldiers and scholars, royals and revolutionaries, these messages offer rare glimpses into everyday life during one of the most transformative periods of modern history.
The book’s afterword explores the significance of the Lotus postcard collection of the Museum of International Law for international lawyers.

The first 30 copies will be accompanied by a real postcard from the Lotus or Tonkin (as the Lotus was known until 1913).
